Pakistan Men’s national team will be playing two Tests and five T20Is as the PCB confirmed the itinerary for West Indies tour. This is the first time that Pakistan will be featuring in a five-match T20I bilateral series. The tour will commence between July 21 – August 24.

Pakistan Vs West Indies Schedule

Following the conclusion of white-ball fixtures against England, Pakistan will be playing back-to-back T20Is on July 27 and 28. The two sides will then head to Guyana for the final three games, with the series finale slotted on August 3.

After the conclusion of T20I series on August 3, the visiting side will play a two-day practice match before the Test series kicks off on August 12 at Jamaica.

Keeping in view the fact that T20I World Cup will be played in October this year, Cricket West Indies and the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to replace a Test match with two T20I fixtures.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan, in a statement, said West Indies tour is always a valued one given the rich cricketing history of the Caribbean. “The tour to the West Indies is always a valued and prized tour for the Pakistan cricket teams. The Caribbean cricket history, backed up by the excellent playing facilities, supporting crowds and great ambiance, encourages and motivates the players to produce their very best.

“In consultation with the Cricket West Indies and keeping an eye on this year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, we have agreed to replace one Test match with two additional T20Is. This is aimed at providing further T20 content for both teams, as we continue to prepare and build-up to the global ICC event.”

Wasim added that Pakistan had plans to host England, New Zealand, West Indies and Australia in the next eight months as the goal is to end up as one of the top three sides across all formats by 2023.

“The series in the West Indies is part of a grueling but exciting and entertaining season of cricket for Pakistan. In addition to playing England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and the T20 World Cup and the away series, we will be hosting New Zealand, England, West Indies and Australia in the next eight months.

“This makes every series important and critical for our side as we aspire to feature in the top three across all formats by 2023.”

This tour will also see Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan returning to the Caribbean in coaching roles – a place where the duo had ended their international careers with a Test series win back in 2017.
