I wish to be janneman to all Pakistanis with my performances in PSL - Janneman Malan

Islamabad United has roped in South Africa top-order batsman 'Janneman Malan' in the replacement draft for the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six matches.

The 25-year-old has represented his country in nine T20Is and has an average of 26.33. In domestic cricket, he has played 52 T20s and amassed 1571 runs at an average of 32.06.

Malan is excited to be drafted by former PSL champions and is sanguine to deliver the goods for the franchise in the remaining matches of PSL 2021. Malan found out what 'Janneman' means in Urdu - sweetheart - and he aspires to become a janneman to all Pakistanis with his performances.

"Excited to join @IsbUnited Heard so many great things about the franchise. I just found out what Janneman means in urdu. I wish to be janneman to all Pakistanis with my performances in the PSL. #UnitedWeWin," said Malan in a tweet.

Islamabad United franchise owner Ali Naqvi is happy to have Malan onboard and welcomed him to the United's family.

"We are equally excited to have onboard. Welcome to the #ISLYFamily," tweeted Ali Naqvi.

In his last international T20I appearance for Proteas, Janneman Malan provided a solid start to his team scoring 33 runs and he hit three fours and one maximum, striking above 100.

PSL season 6 was postponed abruptly in the first week of March after a breach in bio-secure bubble and coronavirus cases surfacing among players and support staff members. The remaining matches are set to resume from June 1 at National Stadium, Karachi.
