In the game of cricket, an over consists of six balls. An over is a set of six consecutive balls bowled by a single bowler from one end of the pitch to the other. The bowler delivers the ball to the batsman, who tries to score runs by hitting the ball and running between the wickets.

After the bowler delivers six balls, the fielding team must change ends, and a different bowler will begin a new over from the other end of the pitch. This rotation of bowlers continues until the allotted number of overs for the innings has been completed, or until the batting team is all out.
