Australia's experienced all-rounder James Faulkner hasn't committed a return to the Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) after an impressive outing in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Faulkner was among several other Australian players that took part in the Abu Dhabi-leg of the PSL. He believes that he has taken a lot of confidence from his performance in the PSL-6 after he took 13 wickets in 6 games for the Lahore Qalandars while also scoring a handful of runs down the order.

The BBL clubs are currently going through a contracting embargo and Faulkner is also having offers from T20 leagues around the world.

"It's something my manager and I will sit down and look at with all the leagues going on around the world. Joining the T20 circuit is probably the most realistic thing for me to be doing, I know I'm not going to be playing Test cricket again, or four-day cricket either. There's potential for one-day cricket but after having a couple of months off after the last Big Bash, then going into the PSL and playing six games in 10 days and performing reasonably as well, I got a lot of confidence out of that,” Faulkner told Cricket.com.au.

Faulkner last played in the BBL in late December against the Brisbane Heat where he couldn't complete his second over and was later ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. There are plans of mooted overseas player draft and a league-wide contracting embargo is also putting uncertainty in Faulkner’s mind.

“That's probably the angle that I'll go at. I've got to weigh up what offers are on the table and map it out,” the all-rounder added.
