Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi becomes the first Pakistani to receive an honorary golden visa from the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Afridi serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Haier and Ruba Digital and he's overwhelmed after getting the honor. He extended his gratitude towards the UAE government for recognizing his efforts in businesses and in sports as well.

"I am pretty much grateful to the leadership of the UAE for the visa. It’s not just a visa; it’s also to pass on the message to the next generation that if someone has the ability, he can achieve those things. I am hopeful that in this course of action, many investors will come to the UAE," Javed said.

Afridi also thanked the ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and vice-president of UAE and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi.

"Special thanks to Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and vice president of the United Arab Emirates and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi," he added.

The owner of PSL 2017 champions hoped for improved relations between India and Pakistan and is looking to arrange a series between IPL & PSL teams when the situation improves.

“When the relations between Pakistan and India improve, I would like to see matches between PSL and IPL teams. The political differences between the two countries, I hope can be reduced by cricket,” he said.
