Sajid Khan over the moon after receiving maiden Test cap
Pakistan has introduced the off-spinner Sajid Khan who hails from Nawan Kali Mardan in the ongoing first Test match against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club.

Khan became the 244th Test player for Pakistan as he fulfilled his dream of representing Pakistan after working hard for more than 15 years in the domestic circuit.

After receiving his Test cap from captain Babar Azam, Sajid revealed his feelings and credited his mother for her unwavering support. Some consistent performances in the recent domestic seasons helped him earn a national team call-up. The off-spinner has played Under-16 and Under-19 cricket for Peshawar and he’s been playing first-class cricket for the past decade.

“My mother would be the happiest person back home as she prays a lot for me. Thanks to God as there is a lot of hard work behind this. I can’t express my feelings right now. It has been a journey of 13-14 years as I played U16, college cricket, U19, first-class cricket for Peshawar. It’s a proud moment for me,” said Khan.

Sajid looked confident to showcase his all-round skills in the debut match against Zimbabwe and is sanguine to take as many wickets as possible.

“I will try to benefit my team with my all-round abilities and try to bag as many wickets as possible.” he added.

Khan finished the recent Quaid-e-Azam trophy season as the highest wicket-taker for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) as he grabbed 67 wickets at an average of 25.
