PCB having trouble hosting City Cricket Championships

Due to the rising cases of the Covid-19 pandemic, sporting activities across the country have been affected greatly. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also facing a lot of difficulties in hosting the city cricket championships.

According to several reports, the process of selection of Sindh & Balochistan teams has been completed. However, the constant spread of the virus in both these associations has further delayed the holding of the championships.

Therefore, the trials in the other four associations Southern Punjab, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern haven't been started yet.

The situation of Covid-19 across the country is not allowing the authorities to hold trials during Ramadan in all four associations.

Reports of an Inter-city Cricket Championship within the board also emerged in the meantime. In case the Inter-City Championship is not held, the PCB will not be able to form teams for the upcoming domestic season. The PCB is only left with two months before the monsoon for the Championship.
